BMG has made a strategic investment in Ram Records designed to help the legendary drum & bass label grow in the UK and internationally while staying true to its independent roots.

Ram was founded in 1992 by then-16-year-old artist Andy C to release his own genre-defining records with an investment of £1,000 and a logo designed by his sister.

Ram Records has gone on to lead and chart the history of the drum & bass genre and discover crossover artists such as Chase & Status, Sub Focus and Wilkinson. The label has been named ‘Label Of The Year’ at least 10 times by BBC 1Xtra, the Drum & Bass Arena Awards and the National Drum & Bass Awards. Andy C and business partner Scott Bourne will remain at the helm of the label.

BMG UK EVP Alexi Cory-Smith said, “If ever a label could be said to have defined a genre, it’s Ram. We are delighted to be able to help Andy C and Scott take Ram to the next level.” Andy and Scott said, “We have worked with lots of companies over the years, but BMG really get it. We have been incredibly impressed by Alexi and her team, and we are very excited at being able to tap into BMG’s infrastructure and resources.”

Forthcoming releases include a new Andy C single ‘New Era’ released on February 19, albums from the acclaimed Delta Heavy and award-winning Calyx and Teebee and two new compilations RAMiami and Ram Life.
